Terms of Service
Effective 6 November 2026 · Version 2026-11-06
These terms are an agreement between you and [Operator legal name] ("we") for your use of GigProQuo. By registering or logging in you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What GigProQuo is
GigProQuo helps freelancers record their work, have it verified, and build a credit rating from verified records. We do not lend money. A credit rating on GigProQuo is an indication based on records held on the platform, not an offer or promise of credit. Credit applications are recorded and reviewed by our staff; any lending decision is made separately.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- You choose when you register whether the account is for an individual or a registered company. This cannot be changed afterwards.
- A company account belongs to the company. The person who registers it confirms they are authorised to act for the company, and the company must name a representative on its profile.
- Each CIPC registration number can be used by one account only.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication; if you do, keep your recovery codes safe. If you lose both your phone and your recovery codes, we will check who you are before turning it off.
- For security, we keep an activity log of what is done on accounts (see our Privacy Policy). If you see a device you do not recognise in your logged-in devices, log it out and change your password.
3. Accurate information
- Everything you give us must be true, current and yours to give: your identity, company details, TCS PIN, documents, gigs, amounts and client details.
- Only record gigs you actually did. We contact your clients to confirm completed gigs, and only confirmed gigs count towards your rating.
- Completed gigs are financial records: they cannot be deleted or reopened.
- Testimonials must be genuine. Do not write a testimonial yourself and present it as a client's.
- Using another person's or company's details, or false documents, is prohibited and may be reported to the authorities.
4. Verification and staff decisions
Our staff check payee checks (with SARS), company registrations (with CIPC), documents, gigs (with your clients) and credit applications. We decide these in good faith on the information available, and we may ask for more information. Decisions are logged and you are told the outcome.
We may ask you to confirm your details, or to agree to a contract, by signing online with our e-signing system (Documenso). You agree that signing this way is as valid as signing on paper, except where the law requires a different kind of signature (see the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002). For a company account, the form goes to the company's representative, who confirms they are authorised to sign for the company. Check the details on a form before you sign it, and tell us if anything is wrong.
5. Someone using your details
If an account uses your company's or your personal details, you can send us an ownership claim with proof, including a current photo of yourself holding your ID. If we uphold it, we close that account and release the details. If a claim is upheld against your account, we will close it and tell you why.
6. Things you may not do
- Misuse the platform: attempt to access other accounts or data, interfere with its security or operation, or use automated tools to scrape it.
- Upload unlawful, misleading or harmful content, or content you have no right to share.
- Use GigProQuo to send spam, including testimonial requests to people you have not worked with.
7. Closing and suspending accounts
You can delete your account if it has no financial activity, or close it otherwise (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where the law allows.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you upload. You allow us to store and display it on the platform, and to show it to our staff, for the purpose of providing GigProQuo.
9. Liability
We provide GigProQuo with reasonable care, but cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made by others based on information on the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or other law that cannot be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the version and date above and ask you to agree again before you continue.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
